How different a day can be. After yesterday’s supreme boat-handling efforts by Emirates Team New Zealand at the very outer limit of the zone that AC75s are designed for, today was a more genteel outing on a billiard-table flat Hauraki Gulf with a temperate, rather desperate 4-6 knots of breeze. Very much a day for checking on sail trim and moding, the Kiwis put in a decent shift of just over three hours on and off the tow line, ghosting to foil with the LiDAR cameras measuring every sail shape imaginable in over-drive.
